Spirit of Snæfell
Iceland
Bárður Snæfellsás, half troll, half man, is known as the guardian spirit and mythical protector of the Snæfellsness Peninsula after he gave away his land and vanished into the Snæfellsjökull ice cap. His story is recounted in a 14th Century Icelandic saga.
