Anna Morgan is a British / Spanish (Basque) fine art landscape and nature photographer, educator, writer and advocate for ecological health who now calls Vancouver Island, Canada home. Anna holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree from the University of Liverpool and has been a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons since 2006.
After running her own veterinary practice for over a decade, Anna earned a Master of Veterinary Science degree in Conservation Medicine from The University of Edinburgh before transitioning into professional photography. Her research brought photography and conservation together so that photographic practice served both as a tool for reflective thinking and as a subject of research to bring a deeper understanding of the structural frameworks that underpin the premise of conservation photography. Even within such a transdisciplinary field as Conservation Medicine, this was a challenging study that delved into fields of study as diverse as photographic theory, systems thinking, social justice, feminist theory, spiritual ecology, and Indigenous ways of knowing.
Anna gravitates towards photographing quieter and more intimate scenes, along with abstract interpretations of the natural world. Her imagery reflects both her personality and her interest in the intricate interconnections of life on Earth. Her work often explores visual narratives that reside in the liminal landscapes of consciousness and co-generative, transformative change. Through personalised mentoring and individual or group workshops, Anna encourages ecological wholeness by fostering photographic practices rooted in connection, openness, and self-awareness.
A sought-after speaker, Anna has had the privilege of presenting to audiences nationally and internationally. As an experienced educator, she is regularly invited to teach at conferences across North America and to serve on judging panels for respected international photography competitions. Her work has been featured in a number of well-regarded photography journals.
Anna is a proud member of Nature First and actively promotes responsible land stewardship through her practice.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Rather like shifting light on a body of water, reflections continually emerge and surface reflections are rarely what they seem at first glance. My photographic practices offer me opportunity for a deeper introspective reflection and personal inquiry within the more-than-human world. My work opens up a space to lean into vulnerability, explore my own embodied knowing and to make meaningful strides into my emerging future. In other words, it is the vehicle on a journey into Being.
As I listen more closely the natural world, I feel my own presence deepen in return. The more intentionally I attend to land, light, and rhythm, the more clearly an ecological Self emerges - one shaped by relationship and interconnection.

To nurture this Self is to cross a threshold from ego-centred and anthropocentric perspectives focused in individual well-being toward ecological wholeness, and a wider field of care and belonging. I am drawn to the narratives that surface in this liminal terrain between ego-system and eco-system, where consciousness shifts and co-generative transformative change becomes possible. In this space, we learn to listen deeply to ‘other’, to meet uncertainty with curiosity and courage, and to hold multiple truths at once. This is the practice of seeing ecologically.
The most enduring lesson of my practice is the importance of slowing down. In moments of stillness and solitude, sensory overload gives way to openness. By releasing expectations, we create space to witness what quietly arises. Only then can we step back sufficiently to recognise the larger patterns at play - and our place within them.
