I was lucky to have timed my latest visit to Death Valley National Park to coincide with an unusual amount of water that had fallen over the preceding weeks. The record autumn rainfall meant that I was able to experience Lake Manly and witness the plethora of evaporation patterns that materialise as the sandy alluvial soil dries out. I even got to see large pools of water sitting between dunes. Needless to say, I can see why extended stays year after year are appealing and I hope to share some of the magic of this fascinating landscape with you through this collection of images.
