sunlight in shallow water with colourful river rocks

Time

Golden Ears Provincial Park, British Columbia

This scene got me thinking about the paradox of experiencing the fleeting nature of the interactions of water and sunlight, while also considering the length of time that photons of light take to reach the Earth from the sun, the time water takes to filter through layers of rock to come into being as a river, and the time that the rock has been in existence for.
