Erosion of Self
Golden Ears Provincial Park, British Columbia
As we move through our journey in life, the outer appearance of our identities may seem to change or fade but "there is a place in the soul where neither time, nor space nor no created thing can touch" (Meister Eckhart); where we belong to ourselves. This image reminded me of some wise words from John O'Donohue that identity cannot be reduced to biography. And perhaps, as these outer layers are peeled away or altered, we come to know ourselves more intimately. Photo © copyright by Anna Morgan.
